Questions

Photo scanning FAQ

How much does it cost to scan photos in Spring Hill, TN?

Side Quest PCs scans loose prints for $0.30 per photo with a $49 minimum. A shoebox of up to 500 photos is $149, with a USB drive and download link included. Backs are scanned at no extra charge.

Why use a local service instead of mailing my photos away?

Your photos never leave town. Mail-in services require shipping irreplaceable prints and can take several weeks. Here you drop them off, or I pick them up, and you get them back in the same order.

Can you scan photos that are in albums?

Photos need to be removed from albums and frames first. I scan loose prints from wallet size up to 8×10. Slides and negatives aren't offered yet.

How do I get my scanned photos?

On a USB drive, through a private download link, or both. Download links stay active for 60 days, and I keep a backup copy for 30 days after delivery in case anything goes wrong.

Are my original photos safe?

Prints are handled carefully and returned in the order you provided. Anything torn, curled, or too fragile to scan safely is set aside, and I'll ask you before scanning it.

What should I do with my photos after they're scanned?

Back them up in at least two places, such as a cloud service and an external drive. The 3-2-1 backup post on the blog walks through a simple plan.
